Login using Facebook
How to Join
1. Click on Join
2. Fill in your desired username and email address. (You are not able to choose your password at this point.) Accept the Terms and Conditions, click on 'Create new Account'.
3. Within a few minutes you should receive an e-mail containing a randomly generated password, as well as a one-time login link - you can use either to login to the website. If you do not receive an email (this happens sometimes if spam filters delete the email), contact the website admin here, who will be able to help set up an account.
If you choose to login using the random password, go to the brightonactivist.net website and fill in the box in the right side bar:
If you choose to use the one-time login, copy the link, paste it into a browser, and press enter - be careful that the link is not interrupted by any spaces. When the page loads, click on 'Log in'
4. You will be taken to your user page, where you should enter a new password. If you no longer like your username, you can change this too.
5. If you like, you can further personalise your user account by uploading a small picture, choosing which blocks to display in your side bars, and inserting a signature. It is recommended that you allow other users to contact you by clicking on the box in the contact settings.
Using Facebook to Log in
Many people now use the social networking site facebook.com. To make using BrightonActivist.net easier, it is now possible to log into our website using your facebook account. When you do this for the first time, a new account is automatically created.
1. Click on the Facebook login image on the right hand side bar below the normal Login box.
2. You are now automatically forwarded to a login page which is hosted on the facebook.com website, but which knows that you are coming from BrightonActivist.net.
3. Type in your usual facebook username and password. Then click on "Login".
4. Next you are directed to a page on facebook.com which asks you if you want to log into the "brightonactivist.com application". Here you need to leave the case ticked, and then click on "Log in to brightonactivist.net".
5. You are now automatically re-directed to a page back on the BrightonActivist.net website. You now need to enter your email adress, so that we can complete the creation of your account and email you your account information. This is because we do not use information from your Facebook account, including your email address. Then click on "Register".
6. You are now logged into your new BrightonActivist.net account, and the user login box on the rhs is replaced by a box with links relating to your new account. To customise your account, click on "My account", then on "Edit", and make changes as described below. In particular, you may want to change your Username (which will now normally be your real name, as used on facebook) to a different username that protects your privacy on BrightonActivist.net. If you change your username, you will still be able to log into the same account using your facebook username.
7. On future visits on the BrightonActivist.net website you have several choices to login:
* you can log in the same way you as described above - click on the facebook icon and type in your facebook ID ;
* alternatively, you can click on the standard login box, type in your BrightonActivist.net username and password ;
* if you are at that moment logged into facebook, then you will also automatically be logged in at BrightonActivist.net.
If you already have an account on BrightonActivist.net, then it is still possible to associate it with your facebook account. The advantage of this is that you will be able to login with your facebook account into BrightonActivist.net.

3. Click on 'Facebook Identities
4. Click on the facebook logo, and then proceed as explained above.
