Boycott Israeli Goods picket at new Sainsburys

When - 28/04/2007 - 12:00pm .
Where - Sainsburys Near London Road.
Organised by - PSC/Brighton-Tubas Solidarity.

The delegation that has just returned from Palestine have called a 'Boycott Israeli Goods' picket at the new Sainsbury's (27 New England Street) this Saturday from 12.00 to 3.00pm. Please come and support them.

Whilst our supermarkets are flooded with Israeli produce, Palestinians are losing more land each day, are being left waiting at Israeli army checkpoints whilst their produce rots, and cannot export their goods as they face discriminatory regulations placed on them by Israel.

The delegation spent two days in the Jordan Valley, the most fertile area of the West Bank, where 95% of the land has now been stolen from the local Palestinian population. As the months go by Israel is doing all it can to ethnically cleanse the Jordan Valley by taking the little land and water left to the Palestinians, bit by bit. One of them, Tom, is still there staying in a Bedouin village that is threatened with total destruction by the Israeli Army. He is with other internationals who are determined to support the villagers in their resistance to the planned house demolitions which will leave the area free for the expansion of a nearby Israeli settlement. This is happening whilst Israel continues to enjoy preferential trading relations with the EU.

Please support the picket. We look forward to seeing you there.
