Organised by - Duke of York, Save Omar and SmashEDO.

A film featuring Smash Edo and the unsuccessful attempt to suppress peaceful protest at EDO MBM with a High Court Injunction and over 30 arrests at demos.

On Friday 8 June at 6.30pm, former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan and critic of the government Craig Murray will introduce the screening, hosted by local campaigners Save Omar and Smash EDO, who are featured in the film.

"The shocking truth about the erosion of our fundamental civil liberties by Tony Blair’s government is exposed in this documentary. The film reveals how the five pillars of liberty – the right to liberty, to privacy, to a fair trial and to free speech, plus the prohibition of torture - have been systematically destroyed by New Labour in a climate of fear generated by the government and the media. The real examples of our hard-won and longstanding liberties being undermined in a period of just ten years cited in the film are so ridiculous you will laugh, and are ultimately so terrifying that you will want to take action. The individual stories are combined with previously unseen footage, cheeky stunts and comments from leading politicians, celebrities, human-rights organisations, academics and lawyers."
