Many of you will be aware of the Oxford Union's disgraceful decision to allow BNP leader, Nick Griffin, and holocaust denying historian, David Irving, to speak at their university.
At the Sussex students' union annual general meeting last term, we were faced with a similar decision as a motion was proposed to overturn the existing 'No Platform' policy and allow fascist organisations like the BNP onto campus.
The motion was, however, not passed and we retain our 'No Platform' policy.
In case there is any future attempt to allow fascist organisations onto our campus we call a public forum on "Why we say 'No Platform' to Fascists" with guest speaker, Martin Smith. Martin Smith is a dedicated anti-capitalist, anti-fascist political activist with years of experience and is the National Organiser of the SWP.
