For the Iraqi people, war and occupation have led to hundreds of thousands of deaths and crippling poverty. But for oil companies like BP and Shell the desperate situation in Iraq is an opportunity to control Iraq's oil and make massive profits at the expenses of the Iraqi people. An Oil Law is being passes to allow for the privatisation of Iraqi Oil, and is strongly oppose by the organised oil workers and the majority of Iraqis.
This Day of Action is in support of the current grassorrot protests and campaignings in Iraq aganst the Oil Law, the privatisation of Iraqi oil and the reckless greed of BP and their ilk.
