Another London Road

St James Investment are buying up property in the London Road area. In other towns where they have done this, proposals for new Tesco stores have followed.

Now, St James Investment are talking of “revitalising” the London Road area with a plan that includes a three storey Tesco store covering 120,000 sq ft. That’s up to 5x the size of the Sainsbury's store in the New England Quarter.

And they plan to build a car park for 1000 vehicles, as well significant road and junction changes, new tall buildings and the demolition of New England House, with the many small businesses contained within to be “affordably relocated”- details of what exactly this means to be confirmed.

Crucially, Brighton and Hove City Council own several properties that are key to these proposals, including New England House, and planning permission has not yet been granted.

ANOTHER LONDON ROAD
is a group organised by members of the local community who believe that there is another way to revitalise London Road, with a vision that is shaped by the community, for the community, serving our needs rather than those of big business and distant share holders.

Political contemporaries

Political contemporaries include Israeli prime ninister Golda Meir pictured in a softer light than usual. "The image is almost Rembrandt-esque," Mellor points out. Nye Bevan is caught wearing a beret, Michael Foot an anorak,1z0-051and a beaming Tony Benn is in what looks like a tight collar and tie. There are Tories, too. An elaborately constructed shot captures Norman Tebbit in a TV studio. And who'JN0-522s this emerging onto a glorious looking beach? Lord Hailsham, no less, looking rather ingloriously flabby in flippers while pulling up his trunks350-050.More flattering holiday photos are of Edna Healey and the children framed by the oval of a tent flap. It's an idyllic image that seems to confirm the politician's contention that theyE20-322 always did mean more to him than his profession. Denis Healey: Furniture of the Mind is open to the public at InQbate, Sussex University, Brighton, from October 11 to 17. For more information and opening times,

This is great for teenagers

This is great for teenagers who are in their late teens. They can use their knowledge of basic mechanism to repair a few articles at the neighborhood. We are not asking you to change high tension overhead lines! Basic repairing works like that of the bicycles are skateboards can easily be done at home.
