Where - Arts A building, Sussex Uni Arts A2 Lecture Theatre (find it on a map) .
Organised by - Sussex Not For Sale.

We are delighted to announce that MARK BERGFELD will be speaking at the meeting to tell us about the successful campaign for free education in Hessen, Germany. After the government there introduced tuition fees, students from universities around Hessen joined forces and mounted a campaign that culminated in 3000 students taking over a major autobahn. Not only did the government scrap fees but it refunded the six months' worth of fees that students had already paid.

This will be a great chance to hear about how our student colleagues in Europe are facing the same problems of fees and restructuring under neoliberalism, and how we can work together.

Mark will join PROFESSOR KEES VAN DER PIJL, from the university's Centre for Global Political Economy, who will explain the current financial crisis and what it means for us as students and staff of the university.

Don't miss what looks set to be an incredible meeting this Tuesday, 6pm in Arts A2 lecture theatre.
